Driveway Construction

First we mark out the area where the new driveway is to be constructed and excavate to a depth of at least 225mm (9 inches)

We then install the edge restraints which are either kerbs or block pavers set into a concrete foundation. It is important that this is done to stop the driveway from collapsing and moving.

We fill the excavated area with type1mot sub-base material and compact to a depth of at least 150mm (6 inches) and then installany drainage and manhole covers that are required.

We spread washed sharp sand to a depth of around 50mm (2 inches) and compact, then we correctly level the screed with a true straight edge whilst maintaining any falls to allow water run off. We then lay the pavers on the screed in the desired pattern and cut in all the edges where required.

The driveway is then brushed thoroughly to remove any debris. We then apply kiln dried sand and sweep across the whole area making sure all the joints between the blocks are full. The driveway is then compacted and any excess sand is brushed off.
